Walsall have signed former Wolves academy defender Ryan Leak on a one-year deal with an option of a further 12 months after a three-week trial.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 28-year-old has not featured since suffering an Achilles injury at Ross County in January 2025. He will now relaunch his career at Bescot under new head coach Lee Grant.
Leak joined Wolves at seven and progressed through the under-18s and under-23s during a 14-year stay.
His Wolves spell included loans at The New Saints and AFC Telford United, then 30 appearances on loan for FC Jumilla in Spain’s second tier.
He remained in Spain with Burgos CF for two seasons before returning to England in 2021 with hometown club Burton Albion, where he scored once in 22 appearances.
Leak reached the League Two play-offs with Salford City in 2022-23, leaving with two goals in 47 games.
He then made 58 appearances across two seasons with Ross County.
His arrival follows the loan signing of centre-back Declan Skura from Wycombe Wanderers, taking Walsall’s summer additions to nine.
