Warren Zaire-Emery has ‘no chance’ of joining Bayern Munich | OneFootball

Warren Zaire-Emery could be a good option for Bayern Munich, but the Bavarian giants currently have no room for him in their squad.

Bayern legend Willy Sagnol believes the German champions should target another French talent in the form of Zaire-Emery.

Bayern have a rich history of signing French players, including Franck Ribery, Bixente Lizarazu and Sagnol himself, while Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano are currently part of the club’s squad.

Warren Zaire-Emery: No place at Bayern Munich?

After progressing through the youth ranks at PSG, Zaire-Emery has established himself as a key player under Luis Enrique.

The 20-year-old has already made 183 appearances for the French champions, scoring 11 goals, while also earning 13 caps for the France national team.

Sagnol said: “I’m a huge fan of Warren Zaire-Emery. He’s exactly the kind of player who fits Bayern’s profile. Zaïre-Emery has an outstanding character, is incredibly hard-working, and has developed exceptionally well as a footballer.

“If he ends up spending too much time on the bench at Paris, he may start thinking about leaving the club. That said, he would be very expensive”

Christian Falk has told CFBayern Insider that Zaire-Emery would be an “ideal” signing for Bayern, but there is no chance of bringing him to the club at the moment.

Falk said: “It’s a good idea from Willy Sagnol that Warren Zaïre-Emery could be an ideal Bayern Munich target in future. I know Willy very well, and he’s got a good eye for a player. This is a big name, which would fit perfectly for FC Bayern.

“But, to be honest, there’s no chance of getting this player at the moment. Bayern Munich haven’t got a space free for a midfielder in the squad. Remember, Noël Aséko, who was a Bayern Munich player on loan at Hannover, would have been, in Vincent Kompany’s ideal world, involved in the squad to be tested this summer. But in the end, they had to sell him to Frankfurt for €12m.

“I was very surprised by his first press conference at Frankfurt, where he described himself as being of a similar style to N’Golo Kanté. So, you can see he’s not afraid of the future and has a clear plan. Such players, with such incredible self-confidence, are very interesting for Bayern Munich. I’m happy he’s staying put in Germany, as he could be a future player for the German national team. But if you’re prepared to give up such a player and say that you’ve got too many players in this position – like Tom Bischof, Joshua Kimmich, Konrad Laimer, and many other players – then there is, sadly, no place at the moment for Aséko or Zaïre-Emery.”

Bayern Munich need to sell before signing new midfielder

Leon Goretzka has left the club on a free transfer, but Vincent Kompany still has plenty of depth in midfield.

Joao Palhinha remains part of the squad for now, although he is expected to be sold this summer.

Last season, Tom Bischof was often used at left-back, but he is likely to feature in his natural role in central midfield going forward.

There is no doubt that Zaire-Emery would be a fantastic addition to Bayern’s squad, but Kompany currently has no room to integrate another midfielder.
