The full-time whistle has just blown at Estadi Montjuïc as Atlético Madrid have beaten Barcelona 2-1 on their own turf.
The match wasn’t without drama however, as Diego Simeone’s men had to wait until the 6th minute of additional time to make their breakthrough.
Pedri opened the scoring in the 30th minute, before Rodrigo De Paul equalised on the hour mark, making it seem as though the points would be shared in this Saturday night showdown.
Summer signing Alexander Sørloth was the difference maker as he scored with under a minute left to play to take all three points back to Madrid and go three points clear at the top of the La Liga table for the first time this season.
Real Madrid will have an opportunity to make up ground on their city rivals when they take on Sevilla tomorrow, but even with a win they would still be a point behind Los Colchoneros.
