The La Roja are slated to face Peru in their final friendly before the World Cup. But heading into the game, Barcelona midfielder Gavi has raised a few eyebrows.

A video has gone viral where Gavi was seen making a rash challenge on Rodri during a training session, one that could have ended badly.

Gavi’s challenge on Rodri

The clip shows Gavi flying in on his international teammate in what appeared to be a typically combative training moment between two of Spain’s most competitive midfielders.

Despite being on the same side for La Roja, the pair showed that the intensity never drops, even behind closed doors.

The incident has drawn attention not just for the challenge itself, but because of who was on the receiving end.

Rodri has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months, with the Spanish giants reportedly keen on reuniting the World Cup winner with the national team setup at club level.

The midfielder has long been regarded as one of the finest in the world in his position, making him a prime target for Los Blancos as they look to bolster their engine room.

This is despite the fact that Real Madrid camp has distanced themselves from Rodri rumours, as the club look for a younger alternative in midfield.

In any case, Rodri was able to get up quickly and it doesn’t appear that the midfielder has picked up an injury.
