Footage of the reaction of former Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski to the decisive goal netted by Ferran Torres in the World Cup final has come to the fore online.

The Pole, for his part, looked nothing short of delighted for his former Blaugrana attacking partner in crime.

Ferran of course etched his name indellibly into the history books of international football late on Sunday evening. En route to an extra-time win for Spain over Argentina in the World Cup finale, the 26-year-old notched the game’s only goal.

Laid on courtesy of a cushioned header from Nico Williams, Ferran made no mistake with a fine left-footed finish into the roof of the net.

Watching on from the stands as the goal went in were several leading members of Spain’s triumphant 2010 World Cup squad, including the likes of Xavi, David Villa and Sergio Ramos.

And as alluded to above, alongside such iconic figures in New York was one of Ferran’s teammates for the last four years, in Robert Lewandowski.

After seeing Spain’s winner hit the net, frontman Lewandowski – fresh off signing for the Chicago Fire – was spotted smiling ear-to-ear, clapping, and looking more than happy for the player with whom he spent last season battling for minutes:
