‘We miss it’ – Lionel Messi confirms plans to return to Barcelona | OneFootball

Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has this week confirmed that he and his family intend to move back to Catalunya’s capital, upon the Argentine bringing a close to his time on the books of Inter Miami.

This of course comes fresh off Messi springing a surprise on his former club over the last 48 hours.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner sparked widespread chatter across Barcelona early this week, upon paying an unexpected visit to the newly-renovated Spotify Camp Nou.

And on Tuesday, Messi has continued to grab the headlines in the city he for so long called home.

As much comes by way of a round of quotes attributed to the iconic attacker during a recent interview with Diario Sport.

Messi has confirmed that he, wife Antonela and his children all miss Barcelona dearly, therefore ready to head back once his playing days are brought to a close:

“I really want to go back. We miss Barcelona a lot. The children continuously, and my wife, we talk about things about Barcelona, the idea of living there again. We have our house, everything, so that’s what we want.”
