Anthony Gordon’s arrival at FC Barcelona has generated considerable excitement among the club’s supporters, and the England international has made it clear that he is determined to leave his mark at the Spotify Camp Nou.

The 25-year-old forward was officially presented as Barcelona’s newest signing on Friday and spent part of his first day at the club touring the Barça Museum, where he immersed himself in the history and achievements of his new team.

Champions League ambitions

During the visit, one particular moment stood out.

While observing the display dedicated to Barcelona’s five UEFA Champions League titles, Gordon immediately identified the challenge that now motivates him most.

“We need the sixth one,” he said, expressing his ambition to help the Blaugrana add another European crown to their collection in the coming years.

Gordon’s determination to target Champions League success from the outset has only strengthened the positive reception surrounding his arrival.

A passion for reading and team culture

In another video released by the club, Gordon participated in a series of quick-fire questions that offered a glimpse into his personality away from the pitch.

The winger revealed that he is an avid reader and even suggested that he would be open to creating a book club within the dressing room.

Joking about his role among a squad filled with young talent, Gordon said that, as one of the older players in the group, he could help launch a “Book Club de Catalunya” for his teammates.

The England international also spoke about some of the players he has already met since arriving in Barcelona. He mentioned conversations with Lamine Yamal and Frenkie de Jong, highlighting the positive atmosphere within the squad.

When asked which teammate has the best sense of style, Gordon immediately pointed to Lamine Yamal.

First impressions of Hansi Flick

Gordon also discussed his first meeting with head coach Hansi Flick, describing the conversation as both welcoming and encouraging.

“It was very good, very positive. He’s a great guy and he made me feel very comfortable,” Gordon explained.

The forward stressed that he is eager to meet the rest of his teammates and begin integrating fully into the squad as preparations for the new season continue.

Although he is looking forward to experiencing life in Barcelona and playing at the club’s stadium, Gordon made it clear that his main objective is success on the pitch.

Asked what he is most excited about, he pointed first to the supporters.

“I want to meet the fans, first of all, and play in the stadium. But above all, I want to win a lot of trophies.”

Gordon also took the opportunity to thank supporters for the warm welcome he has received.

“Thank you for all the affection. I’m very excited and proud to be here. It’s a dream come true.”
