Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of Benjamin Arthur on loan from English Premier League side Brentford until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.

The 20-year-old central defender made his first team debut for Brentford earlier this season, playing his part in the London side’s third-round League Cup victory over Aston Villa.

Arthur, who becomes Celtic's fourth addition of this transfer window, has also picked up caps for England at youth international levels, with his debut for England’s Under-20 squad coming earlier this season.

Celtic Manager Martin O'Neill said: "I'm really happy that we have brought Benjamin to the club, and I think he can be a very important addition to our squad during the remainder of the season.

"He is an excellent player, with real attributes, good height, strength and speed and I know he can only help and improve the squad across the number of games which we will face over the next few months.”
