Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has shared his early predictions for the 2025 /26 UEFA Champions League naming four clubs he believes stand out as genuine contenders for the title.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Wenger expressed confidence that the Gunners finally mature enough to challenge for Europe’s biggest prize under Mikel Arteta.

"I believe Arsenal are capable of going all the way this year" Wenger said. "They have experience, tactical discipline and balanced squad. But there are two team outside England that can realistically stop them — Bayern Munich & Paris Saint Germain"

Wenger’s analysis: Bayern, PSG and the English powerhouses

Wenger pointed out that Bayern Munich, rejuvenated under Vincent Kompany have started the European campaign strongly winning all four of their opening matches including 2-1 victory over defending champions Paris Saint Germain in Paris.

He also highlighted PSG’s dominance in Ligue 1 and their hunger to defend the crown they won last May with a 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan in the final.

"Bayern are in full strength again and PSG will win their domestic league easily. Their seasons will truly be defined in Europe" Wenger added. "And, of course, Real Madrid .. you can never rule them out in this competition"

English dominance under threat?

With five Premier League club still in contention, Wenger expects the knockout rounds to feature another England vs Europe showdown. Yet he believes only two non-English club (PSG & Bayern) have the quality and mentality to challenge England’s elite.
