West Bromwich Albion’s 2026/27 Championship schedule is set, and five standout dates shape James Morrison’s attempt to lift standards after last season’s late escape. Two Black Country derbies, a Boxing Day trip, and a home finale headline the diary.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Albion open on Saturday, August 15 at Norwich City, a long first journey a week after the Carabao Cup starts.

The first Black Country derby arrives on Saturday, September 19 at Molineux, the first league meeting there with fans since the 5-1 win in 2012.

Boxing Day sends Albion to newly-promoted Lincoln City. The clubs last met in the league in 1910/11 and in any competition in the 1975/76 FA Cup, which Albion won at The Hawthorns. The last competitive trip there was January 1961, and Lincoln have lost Michael Skubala to Bristol City, with Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw now leading.

The return derby is set for the weekend of Saturday, February 20 at The Hawthorns. All will hope it avoids the off-field trouble that caused a 40-minute delay in the FA Cup tie of January 2024.

The campaign ends on the weekend of Saturday, May 1 when play-off winners Bolton Wanderers visit The Hawthorns. The run-in also features Charlton, Middlesbrough and Watford, with Cardiff the penultimate opponents.
