Manchester City were held to a 1-1 stalemate by West Ham United in the Premier League at London Stadium on Saturday.
The visitors bossed possession for the first half an hour but couldn’t test Mads Hermansen in the West Ham goal.
However, in the 31st minute, Bernardo Silva opened the scoring after he was found on the left, and he dinked his effort over Hermansen.
The Citizens’ lead only lasted for three minutes, as Konstantinos Mavropanos drew the Hammers level after he got onto Jarrod Bowen’s cross from a corner.
On the stroke of halftime, Antoine Semenyo almost restored City’s lead after he met Erling Haaland’s cutback pass, but he drilled his effort wide.
Just past the hour mark, Haaland could’ve fired the visitors ahead after he was found by Rayan Cherki, but his effort was parried away by Hermansen before Abdukodir Khusanov headed wide from the resulting corner.
Moments later, Tijjani Reijnders saw his free kick tipped onto the crossbar by Hermansen.
Deep into stoppage time, Marc Guehi could’ve won it for the Citizens at the death after West Ham failed to clear their lines from a corner, and he skied his effort from six yards out.
The result leaves City nine points behind leaders Arsenal, who defeated Everton 2-0 earlier today, while the Hammers currently sit 17th, a point above the drop zone.
