West Ham United will aim to continue their survival push when they host in-form Manchester United at the London Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Hammers head into the contest buoyed by a weekend victory, but they face a daunting challenge against a rejuvenated side on a remarkable run under Michael Carrick.
With West Ham and Man Utd chasing vastly different objectives, the clash promises to carry major significance at both ends of the Premier League table.
West Ham have shown encouraging signs of life in recent weeks, winning three of their last four league matches.
The Hammers sealed a vital 2-0 victory away at relegation rivals Burnley, boosting their hopes of climbing out of the bottom three.
First-half strikes from Crysencio Summerville and new signing Valentin Castellanos proved decisive.
The result leaves Nuno Espirito Santo’s side just three points from safety as the campaign enters a crucial phase.
Despite their recent resurgence, West Ham’s home record remains a concern. The Hammers have won just four of their last 20 Premier League games at the London Stadium.
However, they will draw confidence from their recent record against United, having won their last three home league meetings against the Red Devils.
United arrive in exceptional form under caretaker boss Carrick, who has overseen four consecutive Premier League victories.
United strengthened their top-four credentials with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last time out, following notable wins against Manchester City, Arsenal and Fulham.
United currently sit fourth in the standings and remain firmly in the race for Champions League qualification.
Carrick’s side have also impressed away from home, losing just one of their last nine league matches on the road. West Ham have a mountain to climb.
West Ham have won each of their last three home league matches against Manchester United.
The Red Devils have lost four of their last six Premier League games against the Irons.
West Ham completed a league double over United last season and drew 1-1 at Old Trafford earlier this campaign.
The Hammers have lost only three of their last 15 midweek Premier League home fixtures, while United have won just one of their last nine midweek away league matches.
West Ham will be without Jean-Clair Todibo, who serves the second match of his suspension following his recent red card.
Lukasz Fabianski also remains sidelined with a back injury.
Axel Disasi is expected to continue in defence after making his debut against Burnley, likely partnering Dinos Mavropanos at centre-back.
Nuno said he did ‘really well’ versus Burnley, and he should get the starting berth.
Freddie Potts could replace Callum Wilson. The 22-year-old has played well this season.
