Niclas Fullkrug's future at West Ham is the subject of speculation this summer
West Ham’s transfer business is picking up ahead of the players returning for pre-season in the next week or two.
The Hammers are preparing for life in the Championship after coming 18th in the table, two points adrift of Tottenham Hotspur in 17th.
Nuno Espírito Santo will be keen to lead the club to promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.
But the Irons are at risk of losing some key players this summer as a consequence of going down, with speculation mounting on the futures of Mateus Fernandes, Crysencio Summerville, Aaron Wan Bissaka and others.
The London outfit will also want to offload parts of the team that are no longer a part of the Portuguese coach’s plans.
So there could be a lot of work to be done before any incoming deals can be arranged.

It has been reported by Claret & Hugh that Niclas Füllkrug is willing to walk away from his West Ham contract this summer.
The German international signed for the Hammers in 2024 on a four-year deal, but he spent the second half of last season on loan with AC Milan.
The striker’s future is once again up in the air following his return from the Serie A club, and it’s been claimed he is willing to give up the money owed to him over the next two years in order to facilitate an exit.
This is believed to be worth up to £8 million, with it previously being reported that his wages could be a stumbling block to completing a deal.
A club in the Bundesliga and one in Serie A have been linked with an interest in Füllkrug, who scored one goal from 20 appearances in the Italian top flight.
West Ham fans aren’t too surprised by speculation surrounding Füllkrug’s future, blaming former sporting director Tim Steiden for bringing him in when he wasn’t a good fit.
With it now being suggested that Füllkrug is willing to forego his wages in order to facilitate a move, it is now up to West Ham to find someone willing to take him on.
And more fans are sceptical of being able to recoup any move from the sale of Füllkrug, who struggled to make an impact at the London Stadium.
The 33-year-old made a total of 26 appearances in the Premier League, scoring a total of three times.

Füllkrug proved to be a disastrous signing for West Ham, as he failed to make much of an impact and now his contract acts like an anchor around the club’s neck.
Given his desire to give up his wages to find a move away, this is a positive development for the Hammers, and should help everyone move on from this situation this summer.
It’s no surprise Steiden is receiving criticism from supporters, as his transfer business has played a direct role in building the team that just finished 18th in the Premier League.
Fans will be hoping that the club can move in a different direction now, with Daniel Kretinsky set to become the new majority shareholder.
