West Ham United have submitted a €19m transfer package to AS Monaco for their France youth international Soungoutou Magassa (21), as per Foot Mercato. The Hammers’ offer is built around a €16m transfer fee with a further €3m in bonuses. The AS Monaco product has attracted interest from abroad this summer. Roma and Nottingham Forest previously showed an interest in Magassa, who is under contract with his formative club until 2029.
According to Foot Mercato, Monaco have rejected West Ham’s latest bid. However, Graham Potter’s East London outfit is expected to step up its efforts to sign Magassa. A second bid is expected to arrive on Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro’s desk. Magassa featured 31 times for Adi Hütter’s Monégasques last season. The 21-year-old was not part of the Monaco squad that defeated Le Havre 3-1 for Ligue 1’s opening day.
