West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville is hoping to return to action against Aston Villa on March 22, according to The Athletic.
The West Ham attacker picked up a calf injury in the FA Cup game against Brentford on Monday and will miss the Premier League game against Manchester City at the London Stadium this weekend.
Summerville had been initially expected to miss the trip to Villa Park, but he is desperate to return before then as he eyes a call-up to the Netherlands team.
The 24-year-old Hammers star had an initial scan on Tuesday and will be assessed further this week.
Summerville has been in fine form in recent weeks, with six goals to his name in his last ten games for West Ham.
The Dutch national team have been running the rule over him and he is in strong contention to earn his first senior call-up ahead of the friendly games against Norway and Ecuador later this March.
West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be eager to have Summerville against Villa and will be praying he returns to action sooner.
The Hammers are back in action after the international break on April 4, when they take on Leeds United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Their Dutch attacker could return for the game if the Villa trip comes too early for him.
West Ham need all their best players available in the coming weeks as they look to escape the drop, and having Summerville back in the coming days will be a huge boost.
They could also receive another attacking boost soon as Brazilian forward Pablo Felipe is back in first-team training.
The winter signing had been expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks with a calf problem, but he is closing in on a return to full fitness.
