Owen Otasowie’s Wolves breakthrough proved brief, and the New York-born midfielder, capped by his country, has not played professionally since. His last appearance came for Club Brugge’s reserve side two years after his Wolves debut.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, he moved from the US to London to live with family and joined Wolves’ academy after only starting football in his early teens. He rose through the ranks, debuted against Besiktas in the Europa League, then set up Daniel Podence on his Premier League bow at Chelsea. The report also noted Belgian coverage at the time claiming Brugge stopped paying him after repeated absences without leave.
A first start followed away at Burnley in December 2020. Highly rated and offered a new deal, he was linked with Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG and Juventus before opting for Club Brugge in a reported £3.5m move.
In total he played only two senior games for Brugge, one in the league, and four times for Club NXT. Loan links to Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday came and went.
Away from the pitch he has kept a low profile, though fans have recently shared clips of him appearing in fashion videos on TikTok and X. He is said to have launched a clothing label and has modelled for Burberry.
Former academy chief Scott Sellars once called him an interesting character. On this evidence, a return to the professional game does not appear imminent.
