The Hungarian midfielder has been with the Anfield club since 2023 - joining on a £60m deal from RB Leipzig.
He was a star for Arne Slot during the 2024/25 Premier League title win and this season the Hungary captain has perhaps established himself as Liverpool’s most important player.
The 25-year-old is most at home in attacking midfield but has also played excellently at defensive midfield and even right-back so far this term.
With a contract expiring in 2028 - and a reported wage of £120k per week - it’s been suggested that Liverpool will move to secure Szoboszlai’s future with a new, long-term deal.

It will take an almighty pay rise to secure Szoboszlai’s renewal - with top midfield peers around Europe raking in some £300k per week these days.
Real Madrid are reported to be ready to test Szoboszlai’s resolve with a bid for his services. And if Liverpool allow his contract to expire any further then an avenue may open up for a move to the Bernabeu.
However it is not expected to get to that stage - with Football Insider now claiming that Liverpool are planning to build their team around his talents.
“I think it’s a bit of a mischief-making, probably this one,” a report reads. “I don’t think there’s any chance that Liverpool would consider letting Dominik Szoboszlai leave the club right now.
“He’s probably been Liverpool’s most consistent performer this season. He has stepped up and been a key player for Arne Slot’s side.
“Obviously, he was very instrumental in the title success last season, but again, I think he’s probably been their best performer this season as well.
“So no surprise that maybe there is interest from other clubs. Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the Hungarian in the Spanish media, but I don’t think Liverpool would consider listening to offers for Szoboszlai.
“I think they’ll be looking to build their team around Szoboszlai going forward. He’s under contract until 2028 and it is suggested that Liverpool have opened initial talks over a new deal for Szoboszlai to reward him for his improved performances for Arne Slot’s side.
“He is a mainstay in that Liverpool team right now.”
