According to a fresh report from Defensa Central, it has come to light that Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has held a direct conversation with club president Florentino Perez following the team’s defeat against Liverpool.
The loss at Anfield marked another frustrating chapter for Los Blancos, who have now gone two consecutive seasons without securing a positive result in England.
This time, a solitary goal from Alexis Mac Allister proved decisive, handing Real Madrid their first defeat of the competition.
Despite a promising first half in which Alonso’s men competed strongly, the team’s energy faded after the break.
Once Liverpool took the lead, Real Madrid struggled to regain control or create real danger, leaving the manager disappointed by the lack of reaction.
In his post-match press conference, Alonso downplayed the result publicly, preferring to focus on the positives from his side’s overall performance.
However, behind the scenes, he offered a more open and reflective assessment to Florentino Perez.
As the report explains, Perez did not travel to Liverpool and instead followed the match from Spain.

Even from afar, Perez maintained close communication with the coaching staff and requested a detailed breakdown of the team’s struggles after the defeat.
During their private conversation, Alonso reportedly assured the president that the squad is still developing and that improvements are already in progress.
“We’re lacking that spark away from home against the big teams… but we’ll get it,” Alonso is said to have told Perez during one of the president’s first calls with the team.
Perez sought to understand every aspect of Real Madrid’s second-half collapse.
Alonso was straightforward in his explanation, emphasising that the squad must improve not only tactically but also psychologically, especially when playing away from the Santiago Bernabéu.
The defeat serves as a reminder that while Alonso’s project has shown promise, consistency against top-level opposition remains a work in progress.
Inside Valdebebas, both the coach and the president appear aligned in their desire to ensure this loss becomes a learning experience rather than a setback.
