England continue their pursuit of World Cup 2026 success with a massive meeting with Mexico at the Estadio Azteca.
Thomas Tuchel had Harry Kane to thank for sparing the side’s blushes against DR Congo, with the England captain striking twice in the second half to avoid an early and ignominious exit.
Things get rather tougher, though, with a trip to Mexico City to take on a tough team and raucous atmosphere at altitude in the capital.
The tournament co-hosts looked in ominous form in their 2-0 round of 16 win against Ecuador and will fancy their chances against an England team that has toiled in their last three outings.
Kick off is at 1am BST in the early hours of Monday morning for those looking to watch back home, with Tuchel urging parents to let their kids stay up for the game.
“Write an excuse for school and let them watch football,” Tuchel pleaded. “Come on.
“There’s so much school to go to, but the World Cup is every four years. Let them watch. There will be a big, big match on in four days and we need the support of everyone, and especially of the children.”
