There will be 11 Real Madrid players taking to the pitch for their respective countries at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which gets underway in the United States, Mexico and Canada this month.
For the first time in history, there will be no Real Madrid representatives in Spain’s squad for the FIFA World Cup – but there’ll be nine other nations with players keen to make their mark in North America after a woeful season with Los Blancos.
Carlo Ancelotti has named both Vinicius Jr and Endrick – who impressed on loan at Lyon – in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Vini Jr has been in flying form since the turn of the year, netting 17 times for Los Blancos. Whether the 25-year-old can carry that into this summer’s tournament in North America remains to be seen though.
Brazil face Morocco, Haiti and Scotland in Group C, and while they’ll be the favourites to top the group, there could be a few hurdles to avoid for the Seleção along the way.
Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchoauméni both make it into Didier Deschamps’ squad to represent France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup as Les Bleus look to go one step further than their agonising penalty shootout defeat in the final four years ago.
France are widely viewed as one of the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup this time around, and if they are to do so, then Mbappé is expected to play a central role.
Mbappé and Tchouaméni will face Senegal, Iraq and Norway in Group I.
David Alaba is included in Ralf Rangnick’s Austria squad ahead of this summer’s 2026 FIFA World Cup, and while he’s already bid farewell to Real Madrid, he’s still under contract until June 30 and makes it onto this list.
The 33-year-old captains his national team but fitness concerns might limit just how much of a contribution he can make this summer, with Austria facing a tricky group stage campaign that sees them take on Jordan, Argentina and Algeria in their first World Cup in almost three decades.
As one of the world’s best goalkeepers, Thibaut Courtois makes it into Belgium’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He last featured for the national team back in October and injury concerns meant that he was left out of the most recent squad, but when fit he is indomitable and could play a crucial role as Belgium look to progress into the knockout rounds once again.
Group G sees them face Egypt, Iran and New Zealand.
Perhaps surprisingly, Jude Bellingham is the only Real Madrid player in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Having featured for the Three Lions four years ago in Qatar, Bellingham will be hoping that he can stay fit enough to play a central role in England’s trophy charge in North America.
He’ll be doing so without his club colleague Trent Alexander-Arnold, though, with the full-back snubbed by Tuchel.
England face Croatia, Ghana and Panama in Group L.
Expected to sign a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid, the 33-year-old defender is a handy player to have as Germany look to progress to the latter stages of the tournament.
He’s unlikely to start, though, with Jonathan Tah and Nico Schlotterbeck both preferred ahead of the Real Madrid man.
Germany face the Curaçao, the Ivory Coast and Ecuador in Group E at this summer’s tournament.
If Morocco are to build upon their impressive semi-final appearance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, they’ll be hoping that Brahim Díaz can find form for the national team once again.
The forward hasn’t exactly found the back of the net consistently for Real Madrid – but he scored five for Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations, eventually taking home the trophy in controversial fashion a few months after the final.
Morocco will face Brazil, Scotland and Haiti in Group C, which could throw up a few challenges for the Atlas Lions.
Arda Güler is Türkiye’s star man, so it’s really no surprise that the 21-year-old makes it into his country’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
If he can replicate his impressive club form, which saw him score six goals and net 14 assists across 51 appearances for Los Blancos this season, then Türkiye could fare very well indeed at this summer’s tournament.
They’ve been handed a relatively easy group too, facing Australia, Paraguay and the United States, who are of course co-hosting the tournament alongside Mexico and Canada.
Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping that Federico Valverde can guide Uruguay into the knockout stages at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Valverde made the headlines in the latter stages of the 2025/26 season for his role in Real Madrid’s training ground bust-up, and with Bielsa already widely recognised as a divisive figure amongst the Uruguayan camp, it’ll be fascinating to see how the squad dynamics fare this summer.
Uruguay will face Saudi Arabia, Cape Verde and Spain in Group H.
