Who is Haissem Hassan? Oviedo winger impresses despite Barcelona’s 3-0 win
Barcelona defeated Real Oviedo 3-0 at Camp Nou with Haissem Hassan standing out despite his team’s loss.
Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan could not help his side avoid difficult night at Camp Nou as Barcelona secured 3-0 victory in La Liga.
The match remained goalless at half time with Oviedo showing good organization.
Hassan who has Egyptian-Tunisian roots and has not yet decided which national team he will represent delivered lively performance in the opening period and caused problems for Barcelona’s defense.
The difference in quality became clear in second half.
Barcelona stepped up their intensity and scored three goals in quick succession through Dani Olmo, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
Hassan continued to look sharp early in second half but Barcelona coach Hansi Flick tightened defensive marking on him.
The Oviedo forward eventually substituted in the 82 minute as the home side fully took control of the match.
Despite the defeat, Hassan was Oviedo’s main attacking threat. He registered four shots including one effort on target that was saved by goalkeeper Juan Garcia.
He also completed all of his dribbles finishing with 100% success rate after three successful take ons in first half.
Hassan battled well physically too losing only two of his six duel.
The winger lost possession 14 time but recovered the ball with five defensive interventions showing work rate as well as creativity.
He produced one key pass but could not complete either of his two crossing attempts into the box.
With the win Barcelona regained the top spot in the La Liga standings within 24 hour moving one point clear again of Real Madrid in tight title race.
