Stourbridge-born England midfielder Jude Bellingham has six goals at the 2026 World Cup, including both in the 2-1 quarter-final win over Norway on Saturday, 11 July. His father, Mark, is a prolific non-league great and former West Midlands Police sergeant.

ExpressAndStar.com notes that Mark Bellingham earned a formidable reputation in English non-league football long before the careers of Jude and England Under-21s player Jobe. The 50-year-old, born in Southend then settled in the West Midlands, scored more than 700 goals and is widely respected outside the professional leagues.

He played for Stourbridge, Sutton Coldfield Town and Wolverhampton Casuals. His career began in the mid 1980s, nearly ended by a second torn cruciate ligament in 2001, yet he continued before moving into veterans' tournaments in the late 2010s. His final club was Southam United in 2017.

Away from football he served with West Midlands Police, rising to sergeant, and is now retired. After leaving the force, Mark and his wife Denise helped steer their sons' moves, from Jude's switch from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid to Jobe's from Sunderland to Dortmund.

When Jude left Birmingham City at 17 to join Dortmund in 2020, Denise moved with him while Mark stayed with Jobe. In 2023 Jude went to Real Madrid and Jobe to Sunderland, with Mark heading to the north-east and Denise to Spain. Jobe has credited their parents' example for teaching respect, hard work and graft, a grounding England look to be feeling this year.
