The Pilgrims have not won in the second tier since a 1-0 triumph over Portsmouth on 5th November, meaning they have gone without a victory for 11 matches in a row.

Amid Argyle's woeful form, then manager Wayne Rooney departed Home Park via a mutual agreement on New Year's Eve, having guided the Devon outfit to just four wins during his time in charge.

Since Rooney's exit, the Pilgrims have been under the interim reigns of Kevin Nancekivell and Joe Edwards, who earned the club their aforementioned draws with the Robins and the Potters.

Former boss Steven Schumacher has been tipped to potentially return to Home Park, whilst talks have ended between Argyle and ex-Norwich City manager David Wagner, as per The Express.

X that Austrian coach Miron Muslic is set for talks with the Plymouth hierarchy this week.

Miron Muslic's managerial career so far

After being born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, then a part of Yugoslavia, in 1982, Muslic spent almost the entirety of his playing career in Austria, although he did ply his trade for Croatian outfit NK Novalja from 2002-03.

The last club he played for was Austrian club Ried II, who he joined back in 2015, before hanging up his playing boots just two years later in 2017.

He had spells as assistant manager with the likes of Weisskirchen and Ried, before taking caretaker charge of the latter in 2018, for just one match.

Muslic's managerial career got well and truly underway in August 2020, when he joined Austrian second tier outfit Florisdorfer AC, but he would only remain there for 152 days, opting to take charge of Ried, then of the Austrian Bundesliga, on a permanent basis by January 2021.

But things did not go to plan for Muslic at the Josko Arena, as he took charge of Ried for just 10 games, failing to win a single match while losing seven.

He would not step into management again, until then Cercle Brugge boss Dominik Thalhammer hired the former striker as his assistant in October 2021.

By September 2022, Muslic became Cercle's boss, a role in which he was largely successful, winning 43 of his 101 games in charge before parting company with the club just last month.

Under the 42-year-old's stewardship last season, the Brugge outfit finished fifth in the Belgian First Division A, subsequently qualifying for the Conference League.

Muslic was largely successful for Cercle's progression to the knockout stages of the European competition this season too, but parted company with the club amid their lowly domestic league position.

Miron Muslic would be an outside the box appointment for Plymouth Argyle

It appeared that many Plymouth fans had come around to the idea very quickly of a Schumacher return to Devon, but talks with other managers suggests that Simon Hallett has other ideas.

Whilst talks with Wagner are no longer happening, as per reports, Muslic is an interesting name that has cropped up, and it's a very outside the box one.

The Austrian got Cercle Brugge into European football, and whilst he did lose his job in 2024, he's still young at the age of 42 and could be a good fit at Home Park.

Discussions with Muslic may not amount to anything in the end, but it's another name to add to the potential Rooney successors at the Pilgrims.
