London City Lionesses have confirmed the signing of Delphine Cascarino on a three-and-a-half year deal.
The 28-year-old forward arrives in England having previously played for NWSL outfit San Diego Wave – managed by former Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall – and spending the previous decade at London City sister club OL Lyonnes, where she won nine league titles and six UEFA Women’s Champions League trophies, scoring 31 goals in 204 appearances.
Internationally, she made her debut for France in January 2016, and featured at the 2019 Women’s World Cup, the 2022 UEFA European Championship, 2024 Olympic Games and 2025 UEFA European Championship.
“I’m feeling good, and I am really excited to start the second part of the season with London City,” said Cascarino in quotes distributed to the media. “I’m really happy to be here.
“London City is the only independent women’s club in the WSL, which excites me.
“England – for men and women – is the country of football. It’s always been a goal of mine to play in this league.
“I want to play in the Champions League here at London City and win many trophies.”
London City Lionesses head coach Eder Maestre added: “I’m so excited with this signing, I really think she is one of the most exciting forwards I have seen. She is a dribbler who can take on players in one-vs-one situations, and she will be very powerful on the wing.
“Everybody can see how good she is when she plays and I want that warrior-like and winning mentality off the pitch too, to help us reach our goals.
“She has won six Champions Leagues, so she has the ambitions and the know-how to win, on and off the pitch. She will help us reach the goals we want to get to.”
