An explanation for the delay in La Liga giants Barcelona’s deal for Karim Adeyemi being made official has been forthcoming online.
This comes amid the understanding that ongoings at the World Cup have seen the transfer pushed back.
It is of course common knowledge at this point that attacker Adeyemi is all set to put pen to paper on terms in Catalunya’s capital. After the Barcelona brass identified the German as a priority addition to Hansi Flick’s squad, a transfer agreement was quickly found with Borussia Dortmund.
The expectation was that as much would culminate in the move being made official by this weekend. As alluded to above, however, this has not proven to be the case. Instead, Barca’s announcement and presentation plans have been pushed back until next week.
As a result, the 24-year-old is not yet permitted to train with his new Blaugrana teammates. And an insight into why has on Saturday been provided.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, with Joan Laporta and Deco having extended their stay in the USA following Spain’s qualification for Sunday’s World Cup:
‘Everything points to Adeyemi becoming Barcelona’s second signing of the 2026-27 season on Wednesday.’
