PSG will wear their Hechter home shirt in Budapest on Saturday at 18:00 for the Champions League final against Arsenal, because they are designated the home team. That status was set months ago.

According to L'Équipe, last year their colours could have clashed with Inter Milan, yet Paris appeared in the emblematic Hechter on all 2025 trophy presentation photos because they had priority over the kit choice.

The home-team designation was determined on 30 January, the day of the play-off draw, when ties were mapped based on league-phase rankings.

One pot contained Paris, ranked 11th, and Newcastle, ranked 16th. Paris were drawn first, placing the French champions in the top half of the bracket with Monaco as their opponents.

UEFA regulations state that the team coming from this "silver" side is considered the home side in the final.

Arsenal, who were directly into the last 16, learned on 27 February that, if they went all the way, they would be the away side in Budapest, having been placed on the "blue" side of the draw.
