Serie A side Juventus have faced significant challenges in the hunt to sign a new goalkeeper. As other options fade away, Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario can actually be their best possible option.
La Gazzetta dello Sport note how the idea of signing Alisson has faded away. It seemed like a deal was close but the Brazilian never asked Liverpool to lower their demands. Similiar issues are being faced for Emi Martinez, who is valued at more than what Juve want to pay by Aston Villa.
Atletico Madrid also demand a significant amount for Jan Oblak, leaving Tottenham’s Vicario as a viable profile.
He is 29 and Spurs can give a discount, as he could already be a second-choice behind Antonin Kinsky. Vicario is also keen on returning to Italy. He has a low salary which would be quite affordable for the Old Lady, with Marco Carnesecchi also appearing as an expensive target.
Juve sporting director Marco Ottolini has had a very good relationship with Vicario’s agent Gabriele Giuffrida. This should drive a deal forward and Tottenham have shown no indication of wanting to keep him.
Vicario’s chapter in London seems to be over, having also won silverware. His contract runs out in 2028, making 2026 the best time for Tottenham to sell him.
