Manuel Neuer is missing from FC Bayern training – will he be able to play against SC Freiburg on Saturday?

Manuel Neuer has not trained with the team this week: the captain is out due to a gastrointestinal infection

It is therefore questionable whether he will be fit to play in time for the next Bundesliga home game on Saturday afternoon against SC Freiburg (3.30pm). Bayern are back in action after the two-week international break. The league leaders will face the tenth-placed team from Breisgau at home in the Allianz Arena

Ito and Davies back in training

Bayern had to make do without Neuer in public training on Thursday, but Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito were able to train again. Both had been out for months due to injury. Ito could possibly even be back in the squad for the German record champions‘ home game against Freiburg for the first time, after the Japanese player has been able to train with the team again for some time following his second metatarsal fracture

Coach Vincent Kompany was also able to work with the internationals again on Thursday as they returned to Säbener Straße after playing for their countries, although Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry trained individually and Jamal Musiala is still undergoing rehabilitation training.
