Will Still returns to French top flight, signs two-year Auxerre deal with option | OneFootball

Will Still has returned to the French top flight as Auxerre head coach. The club said in a statement he has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third season.

The 33-year-old succeeds Christophe Pélissier, whose departure was confirmed despite the Burgundy club securing Ligue 1 survival. An agreement between the parties had been reached in recent days.

Still will be working in France for a third time after Reims and Lens. He made his name at Reims, piecing together a 19-match unbeaten run and spending two seasons in charge.

He moved to Lens in summer 2024 and, in his only campaign with the Sang et Or, guided them to eighth in Ligue 1.

He then tried his hand in England with Southampton in the Championship, but was dismissed in November 2025 and subsequently took a break before returning with Auxerre.
