Willian to start UEFA football management course as Grêmio midfielder eyes future off the pitch | OneFootball

Grêmio attacking midfielder Willian will take part in UEFA's Football Management Certificate for players, now in its fifth edition, as he prepares for life beyond playing.

The player said in a social media post that he had been accepted onto the nine-month programme and was eager to begin.

The online course starts on 16 February, is taught in English, and is also open to active coaches and referees, although registration is closed.

Based in South America, Willian will have flexible hours, and the study plan will not affect his daily work at Grêmio.

The certificate is viewed as a pathway into club leadership roles, providing an academic qualification before the end of a playing career. Willian is 37 and nearing the final stages of his time on the pitch.

Signed in September 2025, he has made 13 appearances for Grêmio, scoring one goal and supplying three assists. This year he has started when reserve line-ups have been used, and his deal runs to December 2026 with an option for one more season.
