Leeds United start their pre-season fixtures on Saturday afternoon with a clash against Manchester United in Stockholm.

The match will see the rivalry reignited between two familiar foes, as well as giving Daniel Farke’s side valuable playing time in the run up to the new campaign.

Ahead of the encounter at the Strawberry Arena, attacker Willy Gnonto says that spirits are high going into the tie.

“It is going really well,” the Italian international told LUTV. “I feel like we are working really hard, we are getting ready for what is going to come and it is important to get to know the new players, get to know what the coach wants to do this season and, yeah, just good vibes all around.

“I think everyone is in a good mood. Everyone is happy to be back and we are ready to work. It is obviously tough but it is good to get ready from now so that the season is going to be easier for us.

“Obviously, I try to enjoy myself. It is not easy when you have to do runs and stuff like this, but obviously we have to do it.

“I think it is the best game to start with. It is a big rivalry and it is our first friendly game as well. So, we just want to try to get the result and start on the right foot.

“Obviously, it is Manchester United, so it is never going to be a game like the others. We know what we have to do. We know that it is a friendly game but we want to win.”
