Winger names one thing Chelsea did wrong in conceding to Cardiff | OneFootball

Pedro Neto scored another crucial goal last night, taking his tally for the season to 6, making it already his joint most prolific season.

He’s going to get a lot more. This is turning into a breakout season for the former Wolves man, who has never managed the output to match his talent.

Speaking after the 3-1 win over Cardiff, the Portuguese winger explained what he thought had swung the game for the Blues:

“It was the concentration. It was the will of winning this game. We wanted to win a lot this game. Then we had guys on the pitch who could make the difference and Garna [Alejandro Garnacho] today helped us a lot as well with two goals.”

“Sometimes we were under control but sometimes it’s the small details that make the difference. Maybe we lost a bit of concentration because we had a lot of corners in that time in the game, and the first time they went up after the corners, they score. So it was a bit of a lack of concentration, but in the end we could go through, so we are really happy.”

This is going to be the season of Neto it seems. Alejandro Garnacho did well on the other wing in the second half, but he’s still in and out of Maresca’s plans. Neto is a locked in key man, and the team is now reaping the rewards of how he’s settled in.

Enzo Maresca was forced to speak a little about his tensions behind the scenes, and made a pretty amazing claim about his relationship with the sporting directors.

Maresca didn’t have Estevao Willian in his team tonight, but according to the coach it was because the winger has a muscle injury. We won’t see him at the weekend either.
