With his future uncertain, Memphis Depay has been working with former Corinthians fitness coach Diego Pereira while on holiday, as contract renewal talks continue. According to Globo.com, the forward shared personalised work with the Brazilian on his social media.

On Wednesday he posted a video speaking with Pereira while receiving a massage in a gym. Pereira also shared a training spreadsheet created exclusively for the Dutchman, titled "Coração de Leão".

The pair collaborated at CT Joaquim Grava from September 2024 to April 2025. In that spell Memphis regained top fitness and was central to the 2024 Brasileirão surge that hauled Corinthians out of the relegation zone, then to the following season's Campeonato Paulista title.

Pereira departed alongside Ramón Díaz, who was dismissed by president Augusto Melo after a poor start to last year's Brasileirão.

Memphis, Corinthians' leading player, is under contract until 31 July. The club granted him time off after his involvement at the 2026 World Cup with the Netherlands.

There is an offer on the table that includes a significant salary reduction. Memphis's lawyers are reviewing the document and have not yet replied, though the forward has said publicly on several occasions that he wants to renew with Corinthians.
