Wolfsburg set for major personnel upheaval after latest Bundesliga loss | OneFootball

Wolfsburg’s Bundesliga fixture against Werder Bremen yesterday evening began with club managing director Peter Christiansen conceding that he may be on his way out at the club. After the German Wolves suffered yet another devastating defeat, neither head coach Paul Simonis nor club sporting director Sebastian Schindielorz wished to discuss their futures either. 

“This is perhaps the most difficult defeat of my career,” Simonis told Sky Germany yesterday evening. “I don’t know anything about my future, it’s not my decision. I always just focus on my work.“

“I find it difficult to take a position,” Schindzielorz added in the mixed zone. “I ask for your understanding that I don’t want to say much at this point. We came up short today in the second half and have been flailing in recent weeks.

“The criticism is justified, and we have to face up to it,” Schindzielorz continued. “We now have an international break. Clearly, it’s about closing ranks and halting this negative trend.“
