Wolves have appointed Nathan Shi as permanent executive chairman. The club said in a statement that he will keep overseeing strategy and daily operations as they prepare for a pivotal summer and the 2026/27 campaign.

Shi has served on an interim basis since December, after namesake Jeff Shi was removed early this season amid rising fan anger as the team slid towards Premier League relegation.

He will report directly to the Fosun board and lead efforts for an immediate Premier League return following their impending relegation. The move is intended to bring clarity and consistency at a key moment.

Shi said he was honoured to take the job permanently and understood the responsibility at a time like this for the club. He said he has been listening and learning to build a clear picture of what must improve.

He added that the focus now is on strengthening the club, building momentum and creating a team and environment that supporters can be proud of.

Jeff Shi stepped down in December after a fierce backlash from fans with the side still winless in the top flight. He remained chairman and CEO of Fosun Sports Group and took no operational role at Wolves.
