Wolves cancelled a training session on Monday after striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the first-team group, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

The incident prompted the club to bring in extra security to prevent a repeat. Arokodare, widely expected to leave this summer, will not feature in Wednesday’s friendly at Maidenhead United.

He is not thought to be banned from the training ground, but his exit appears increasingly likely to be acrimonious and gives new boss Cesar Peixoto an early headache.

The 25-year-old did not initially travel to last week’s warm-weather camp in Portugal, receiving a late call-up only after fellow forward Adam Armstrong suffered an injury.

Signed from Genk for £24 million last summer, he scored just three Premier League goals as Wolves were relegated from the top flight.

In April he faced disciplinary action after a dressing-room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during the 4-0 defeat at West Ham, in which he was the sole aggressor.

Wolves have accepted a loan offer from Trabzonspor, but Arokodare turned it down.
