Transfer focus across the Midlands includes Wolves’ search for a goalkeeper, Leeds’ move for Ladislav Krejci and Aston Villa’s stance on Morgan Rogers.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves are likely to target a new keeper after Jose Sa said he intends to leave, with Sam Johnstone’s future unclear. They are seen as contenders for Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson, with Millwall also keen and a fee around £8m. The promotion winner will depart the Black Cats this summer after spending half of last season at Millwall.

Liverpool are said to be closing in on 14-year-old Wolves goalkeeper Zach Trinder, who has played for England under 15s and featured for the club at under 18 level.

Krejci has long been linked with Leeds, who are now expected to step up their interest. Daniel Farke is said to be driving the move after being impressed despite Wolves’ relegation. Wolves have triggered an option to buy at about £26m after his loan, yet Leeds are prepared to offer around that figure and do not view it as a barrier.

There were fresh links yesterday between West Brom’s Isaac Price and three Premier League clubs. Given his early-season form and regular international starts, interest would not be a surprise. The view here is that Albion and Price are best served by him staying unless an exceptional bid arrives.

Villa want to keep Rogers amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, with PSG also in the mix. Right-back Andres Garcia is attracting suitors too, with Valencia keen and Olympiacos set to propose a one-year loan that includes a purchase option. He has had limited minutes but is under contract for another three years.
