Wolves sporting director Matt Jackson has travelled to Portugal for talks with new head coach Cesar Peixoto about next season.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the club’s transfer strategy has been discussed, with Peixoto tasked with leading an immediate return to the Premier League.
How far plans shift after the surprise head coach change remains unclear, though Jorge Mendes is expected to be influential after facilitating Peixoto’s move.
Peixoto signed a two-year deal to replace Rob Edwards at the end of last week, then returned to Portugal. The 46-year-old is awaiting a work permit before he can start at Compton Park, with pre-season regarded as key.
Meetings with senior players are scheduled before the bulk of the squad return in early July.
Several futures require resolution, including that of striker Sasa Kalajdzic, who has one year left on his contract. He made only two league starts across four injury-hit years and spent last season on loan at LASK.
Kalajdzic said he is looking forward to talks, would give everything if he stays, and suggested it might be unfinished business, adding that summer discussions will determine what is best for both.
