Häcken won the first leg of the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup Round of 16. At the Hisingen Arena in Gothenburg, Inter created chances and dictated much of the play, but were unable to overturn the early setback of Rúnarsdottir's own goal from Tindell's cross, just four minutes in. Wullaert went closest in the first half, while the introductions of Van Dijk and Glionna after the break added to the Nerazzurre's attacking threat, but the match ultimately ended 1-0 to the Swedish side. In a week's time, Inter will have their chance to turn the tie around in the return leg, scheduled for Wednesday 19 November at 18:30 CET at the KONAMI Football Centre.

HÄCKEN vs INTER | THE MATCH
A hard-fought first half at the Hisingen Arena in Gothenburg saw Inter approach the game with the right level of aggression, though with a touch of bad luck. Just four minutes in, with both sides still settling into the contest, the Swedish team took the lead as a cross from the right by Tindell was inadvertently turned into the net by the Inter goalkeeper. Häcken’s No. 24 continued to test the Nerazzurre defence, heading narrowly over in the 8th minute before forcing a save from Runarsdóttir with a right-footed effort in the 21st. Inter’s best chances fell to Wullaert, who went close to equalising in the 24th minute with a left-footed shot from Detruyer's assist that Falk managed to push away. The Belgian forward was constantly involved, both creating and finishing chances, and nearly bagged another assist in the 39th minute with a cross from the right for Vilhjálmsdóttir, who couldn’t quite connect from close range. In added time, Wullaert threatened once more with a header from Merlo's cross that drifted just wide, closing out the first half with Inter still behind.
The Nerazzurre started the second half brightly, pressing forward in search of the equaliser but struggling to find the decisive touch in front of goal. At the other end, around the hour mark, Runarsdóttir was twice called into action by Anvegård – first from a right-footed finish, then from distance – both times denying the Häcken forward. In the final half-hour, Inter reshaped their attack and, despite limited options up front, found renewed energy thanks to the introductions of Van Dijk and Glionna, who created problems for the Häcken defence but couldn’t find the breakthrough. Late on, Magull tried her luck while Tomaselli caused panic in the Swedish box after being brought down.
The first leg of the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup Round of 16 ended in Häcken’s favour, with everything still to play for in the return leg, scheduled for Wednesday 19 November at 18:30 CET at the KONAMI Football Centre.
