According to Superdeporte, the Argentina set-up has a vacancy and Guido is keeping his phone close in case the coach calls in the coming hours.

Although Balerdi is a centre-back, Guido has been floated as one potential alternative to cover the gap, which could put the Valencia CF midfielder back on a major international stage.

In the meantime, he is on holiday and weighing up his next move. He has an offer from Valencia CF and proposals from abroad.

For now, none of the options fully convince him due to certain conditions, and a decision is expected in the coming weeks.
