After conceding a heartbreaking 94th-minute equaliser against Qatar in their opening group-stage fixture, Switzerland will head into this encounter determined to get their World Cup campaign back on track.

Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel retains his place between the sticks for Murat Yakin’s side, while Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi partners former Dortmund centre-back Manuel Akanji in defence. FC Augsburg’s Fabian Rieder and Mainz 05 captain Silvan Widmer also come into the starting XI as Yakin makes a number of changes.

The Bundesliga representation does not end there for the Swiss. Eintracht Frankfurt’s Aurèle Amenda, VfB Stuttgart’s Luca Jaquez, SC Freiburg youngster Johan Manzambi and Hamburger SV full-back Miro Muheim are all named among the substitutes.

Bosnia & Herzegovina are not short of Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga talent themselves, with four players from Germany’s top two divisions included in the starting line-up. FC St. Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj, VfB Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirović, Schalke defender Nikola Katić and veteran forward Edin Džeko all start as Bosnia look to build on their opening-match draw with Canada.

Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Haris Tabaković begins on the bench alongside Karlsruher SC midfielder Dženis Burnić.
