Wrexham could make a move to sign Portsmouth's Terry Devlin this summer after failing to land the player in January.
Wrexham remain in the hunt to reach the Premier League after an impressive 2-1 win at Sheffield United on Saturday kept them outside the play-offs on goal difference.
The Red Dragons’ rise has been remarkable over the years, and they are now dreaming of a fourth consecutive promotion under Phil Parkinson.
Obviously, the uncertainty over which division the club will be in next season can be difficult for the recruitment team, and it appears they are putting plans in place for both scenarios.

That’s after journalist Alan Nixon revealed that Portsmouth’s Terry Devlin remains firmly on their radar ahead of the summer window.
FLW had exclusively confirmed earlier this year that Wrexham were tracking the Northern Ireland international, and they were preparing a £2m bid for the player in the previous window, but a deal couldn’t be agreed.
With Pompey battling to stay in the league, the update explains that Devlin is likely to leave if they go down, and Parkinson is seemingly keen on bringing him to the Racecourse Ground.
Interestingly, Nixon states that Wrexham will try to sign Issa Kabore on a permanent basis following his impressive loan spell, although there is an understanding that the Man City player will only be a realistic option if they win promotion.
Therefore, Devlin is likely to become a concrete target if the club are preparing for another year in the second tier.
It’s no surprise that there is interest in Devlin, as he has been one of few positives for Pompey in what has been a tough campaign.
Not only is he a whole-hearted player who can fill various positions, but he does bring energy and drive to the team as well as showing quality at times.

So, Portsmouth will know that relegation means he is going to be very difficult to keep, and, even though he is under contract at Fratton Park until 2028, you would expect Pompey to face a battle to retain Devlin if they stay up too.
From Wrexham’s perspective, the 25-year-old fits the profile in terms of what Parkinson wants from a new recruit, and he could do a very good job as a right wing-back in their setup.
Clearly, signing Kabore on a permanent basis would be a massive statement of intent, but the club are right to put plans in place for alternatives.
Now, all focus at Wrexham will be on trying to win promotion, but it seems a busy summer window is on the cards once more, regardless of whether they go up.
Similarly, like the rest of his Pompey teammates, Devlin will be desperate to bounce back from Saturday’s embarrassing 6-1 loss at QPR, which has left John Mousinho’s side just one point and one place above the relegation zone going into the run-in.
The ex-Glentoran man will be key to Portsmouth’s survival chances, with their next game against in-form Norwich City on Good Friday after the international break.
