Manchester United will once again undergo a massive revamp in the summer with plenty of outgoings expected as INEOS tries to raise money for Ruben Amorim.

Apart from sales, quite a few players are expected to leave upon the expiration of their contracts like Jonny Evans and Christian Eriksen.

The veteran centre-back has the option of staying on at Old Trafford by being absorbed as part of the coaching staff, while he is also attracting plenty of interest from Championship clubs.

There is interest from West Bromwich Albion, and Sheffield United and now, The Sun have added newly-promoted Championship outfit Wrexham are also eyeing the Northern Ireland international.

Wrexham eyeing Evans

“MANCHESTER UNITED star Jonny Evans is among Wrexham’s major targets as part of their Premier League push.

“Premier League internationals over the age of 30 who are out of contract this summer could be ideal candidates to bolster the squad with a combination of quality, experience and attainability.

“The likes of Man Utd’s Jonny Evans, Newcastle’s Callum Wilson, Everton’s Michael Keane, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy or even Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne all fit this category.”

It is an ambitious plan but Wrexham’s back-to-back promotions from League Two to the Championship has already shown how ambitious the owners are.

Evans’ time is up

Evans has hardly featured under Amorim, making only two appearances under the Portuguese before succumbing to injury. It is clear that he is not the best fit for the head coach’s system.

But he did feature extensively under former boss Erik ten Hag, and turned out to be a key player last year, which earned him a one-year contract extension.

He made a shock return to the club after being released by Leicester City, impressing Ten Hag enough to earn a new deal at his former club.

The Champions League winner returned to win the FA Cup with his boyhood club last season and hopefully, he can lift the Europa League before departing again.
