City legend Shaun Wright-Phillips is delighted that City will be back in Asia for this summer’s preseason tour.
We’ll face Italian giants Inter at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong this August in our first game as part of preparations for the 2026/27 season.
It’s our first time back to Hong Kong since 2019, but we have been to Asia in the meantime; most notably visiting Japan and South Korea in 2023 as well as winning the FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia later that year.
Wright-Phillips has been in Hong Kong this week to help announce the game, which will be part of the Hong Kong Football Festival presented by Asahi Super Dry.

Appearing at an event alongside former Inter striker Christian Vieri, Wright-Phillips met executives and fans alike who are keen to see City in action later this year.
Speaking after the event, Wright-Phillips said: “This is my first time in Hong Kong and although it’s a short visit I’ve been really impressed by how welcoming everyone has been and the excitement for the club and today’s announcement.

“There have been fans in the airport, around the city and at today’s event and it’s great to see everyone excited for the fixture.
“I’ve been part of a number of the Club’s visits to Asia before and it’s exciting that we are returning this summer and I’m sure it’ll be a fantastic fixture against Inter Milan.”
Ticketing information for this fixture will be announced shortly, with further fixtures and details of City’s preseason tour announced in due course.
