League One action from Adams Park as Wycombe Wanderers hosted relegation-threatened Blackpool.

10-man Blackpool all but secured their League One survival with a 1-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park on Saturday afternoon.

Neither side could break the deadlock before the break, but it was Wycombe who had the lion's share of the chances in the opening 45 minutes, with Karoy Anderson threatening for the Seasiders.

Blackpool got off to the perfect start two minutes after play resumed in the second half. Leighton Clarkson's pinpoint corner was headed into Will Norris' net by Luke Leahy on his 600th career appearance.

Wanderers were handed a lifeline with 20 minutes to go thanks to a second yellow card for Hayden Coulson. Bailey Peacock-Farrell produced multiple strong saves at the death to win three points for the Seasiders.

Will Norris was forced into a strong save inside two minutes from Charlton loanee Anderson. The midfielder's shot was well blocked by the Wycombe shot stopper to spare his side's blushes.

It was Anderson who was next to threaten the Wanderers net 20 minutes in. An audacious effort from outside the box dipped just over Norris' crossbar and onto the roof of the net.

Wycombe's first sniff at goal came when Aaron Morley caught Blackpool napping at the back, squaring the ball to Fred Onyedinma who drove a shot into the gloves of Peacock-Farrell.

This marked a swing in momentum in the final 20 minutes of the half, as the Chairboys began to ramp up the pressure. Onyedinma went close again from a Leahy corner which was nodded back across goal by Connor Taylor.

Taylor himself then had a pop from distance just before the clock hit the half-hour mark. His powerful drive from outside the box was directed over by a Blackpool foot, denying him what would've been the goal of the season.

Woodrow and Andre Vidigal also went close for the home team in the dying embers of the first half, but neither side could break the deadlock heading into halftime.

The Seasiders made the best possible start to the second half, finding the net after just two minutes. Clarkson's in-swinging corner was nodded past Norris by Leahy on his 600th career appearance.

With 20 minutes to go, Blackpool were reduced to 10 men when Coulson was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Junior Quitirna, leaving Ian Evatt's side with a big defensive job to do.

Fortunately, Peacock-Farrell was on hand to produce numerous big saves as Wycombe pressed on, denying both Vidigal and Luke Harris who were one-on-one with the Northern Irishman.

These saves would prove crucial, as Blackpool held onto their lead to all but secure their League One status next season with a gritty away performance.
