A head-turning statistic surrounding the early efforts of Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso on the club’s bench has come to the fore online.
This comes amid confirmation that the Spaniard has secured for himself a piece of modern managerial history in La Liga.
Real Madrid are of course fresh off an altogether positive start to the 2025/26 campaign.
Across a trio of outings to date, Los Blancos have rattled off three wins, notching six goals whilst conceding just once.
The capital club’s impressive exploits have come in no small part owing to the contributions of new manager Xabi Alonso, whose stamp can already be seen all over Real Madrid’s performances.
And as alluded to above, as much, this week, has given rise to an altogether noteworthy statistic.
As per a report from Opta, following his side’s 2-1 triumph over Mallorca last weekend:
‘In his first three LaLiga games as Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso has only allowed 17 shots, the lowest tally by a manager in the competition since Josep Guardiola with FC Barcelona in 2008 (12).’
