FC Barcelona and Inter Milan end the first leg of their UEFA Champions League tie with a 3-3 score-line. Both teams came for the win, and they both had spells of dominance throughout the game. Ultimately, both Barcelona and Inter now have all to play for at the San Siro.
With goals from Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and a Yann Sommer own goal, Barça managed to put three goals past the Champions League’s best defense. However, they also conceded three goals in return as well and this game produced some magical moments for both teams.
Here are the player ratings for the Barcelona players.
Player Ratings:
Wojciech Szczesny: 7.5
Did extremely well to come off his line whenever he needed to, and it helped Barcelona avoid some bad situations. Could have done better for Inter Milan’s third goal, however.
Jules Kounde: N/A
Was having a decent game but ultimately went down injured in the first half.
Pau Cubarsi: 8.5
Brilliant work from the young 17-year-old defender, and his adaptation throughout the game was clear to see. Made some crucial blocks and committed the right fouls when he needed to.
Inigo Martinez: 7.5
Solid defensively and did well as a left-back too when Hansi Flick needed him to play there. Played the offside trap well too when needed, and helped in ensuring that Inter Milan did not get too comfortable with the balls they threw in behind.
Gerard Martin: 6.5
Did what he had to defensively, but was the first player that was not injured to be replaced as he got swapped for Ronald Araujo at half-time.

Frenkie de Jong: 7.0
Decent game but some of his pressing was wayward and it was way too easy for Inter Milan to pass their way through him. Did well in possession but he was exploited by the opposition when he did not have it.
Pedri: 8.0
Solid performance from Pedri, both when in control of the ball and when he had to provide defensive workrate as well. Pulled off a few great passes as well but Barcelona was unable to capitalize on most of them.
Lamine Yamal: 9.5
What a magical performance from the young winger, who single-handedly dragged Barcelona back from the depths into a position to compete. His goal was simply out of this world, and his overall performance even apart from that was simply elite in every way.
Dani Olmo: 7.0
Was not as effective as he would have ideally like to be, but the Spaniard had a decent game. Drew a few fouls and was quick on his feet. However, he will be hoping to have a bigger impact against Inter Milan in the next leg if he plays.
Raphinha: 9.0
Did not show up for much of the game, but definitely popped up when Barcelona needed him the most. Provided a big assist and then forced another crucial goal that came through an Inter Milan own goal. Clutch performance.
Ferran Torres: 8.0
Some wayward touches and passes let him down, but Ferran Torres was still eager to make a difference. Fortunately for Barcelona, he managed to get a crucial goal for the team right before half-time as well.
Eric Garcia: 7.0
Put in a good shift after coming on, and he was comfortable doing whatever it took to give Barcelona some breathing room.
Ronald Araujo: 6.5
Solid work defensively, and his physicality really helped minimize the threat that Inter Milan posed. However, he did make a few mistakes here and there that were dangerous for Barcelona.
Fermin Lopez: 7.0
Added extra intensity to the game and made some clever runs into the box. Should have done better with the shooting position he created for himself, however.
Andreas Christensen: N/A
Not enough time or influence on the game to warrant a rating.
