Manchester United picked up all three points against Crystal Palace, beating them by two goals to one at Old Trafford.

The match was one of Michael Carrick’s more difficult encounters in charge of United. In recent games, Benjamin Sesko has stepped up with match-winning moments, and the Slovenian was once again on the scoresheet with a powerfully taken header.

However, United have struggled to create a good number of chances, especially from out wide, following Patrick Dorgu’s injury.

Manchester United need a new winger

Dorgu showed a lot of promise early on under Carrick, impressing with his ability to stretch defences and his constant running on the left flank.

Matheus Cunha has replaced the Dane in Carrick’s starting line-up. However, the Brazilian tends to move inside both with and without the ball, often suffocating United’s attack.

As such, a new natural winger has become one of United’s priorities for the summer transfer window. It has been widely reported that the Red Devils are interested in Yan Diomande.

The RB Leipzig talent, known for his explosive pace and sensational dribbling ability, fits the bill for what United need from a winger. They signed Sesko from the Bundesliga giants last summer, but it is not going to be easy to convince the Red Bull outfit to sell Diomande.

RB Leipzig expecting offers for United target Yan Diomande

According to Sky Germany journalist Philipp Hinze, RB Leipzig are “bracing for major offers” for Yan Diomande this summer.

The German giants have slapped a €100 million price tag on the Ivorian star, as they are keen to make him their record sale.

However, figures in Leipzig want to try to convince Diomande to stay in the Bundesliga for another year before sealing a move away.

It remains to be seen whether the 19-year-old would want to pass up an opportunity to join a big club in the summer. Hinze claims “everything will depend on the offers that come in.”

In that regard, United could get the electric winger ahead of the season. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the Premier League giants “can afford” to meet Leipzig’s high valuation of Diomande.
