Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that he needed to overcome periods of self-doubt to lead the Gunners to the Premier League title.
Arsenal have won the 2025/26Premier League and were coronated as champions after being presented with the trophy, following the club's win at Crystal Palace at Sunday.
The title triumph is the North London side's first since 2004 and the culmination of a patient project under Arteta, who took charge at the Emirates in December 2019.
Arteta survived a rocky period early in his reign, overseeing steady progress season upon season.
However, questions were asked about Arsenal's ability to get over the line, following three consecutive campaigns as Premier League runners-up.
The Gunners also overcame the setback of back-to-back defeats last month to win their final four games and seal the title.
Reflecting on the club's achievement, Arteta admitted he and his team were forced to dismiss doubts to win the title.
"There were doubts. It was understanding that I was able to take them this far [to second place] but maybe someone else has to come and do the final job," he said toSky Sports.
"But thank god we have done it! I feel a lot of joy and a little bit of belief. Yes, [I doubted myself]. It is part of the job. There are many things that are out of my control and that is why you need the best people around you."
Arteta was keen to praise the trust of the Arsenal ownership, who he said provided the foundation for the club's title triumph.
"We have an incredible ownership. Through the tough times is when you really see people. They have incredible values and know the sport better than any of us. They have committed to the project that we have delivered. They have been instrumental."
