Juventus and Napoli have been offered the chance to sign Renato Veiga, whom Chelsea might be open to loaning out in January. Both Serie A clubs are in the hunt for reinforcements in the back. He can be deployed either as a defender or as a holding midfielder, Calciomercato relays.
While the Azzurri are focusing on Danilo and would rather bring in a veteran, the Old Lady has filed his candidacy away while they chase their priority targets. He’s a lefty, which doesn’t hurt. Milan had tracked him when he was at Basel.
Some intermediaries proposed Veiga to Juventus, Napoli, and a few other outfits because he’s not a regular at Chelsea. He joined in a €14M move last summer. He has accumulated 17 appearances so far, scoring twice and assisting once. The 22-year-old has started eight times in the Conference League but just once domestically.
The Blues would be content with sending him out on loan, provided he stars consistently. However, they are dealing with some injuries of their own. Stuttgart are keen too, The Mirror informs. He’s a Sporting CP product and played at Augsburg before breaking out in Switzerland.
It’s unlikely that the Partenopei will sign a talent, as they need a steady hand to deputize their stars. Instead, the Bianconeri might go for a twofer given their long-term injuries; won’t be able to spend for both, and Thiago Motta likes versatile men. Still, Chelsea might not let him go if they have depth problems.
